March 26, 2021

Citizen Assist – 9:34 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller complained regarding noise and exhaust fumes and advised that new signs posted advised drivers to turn off their equipment. Police determined that the signs were posted by the business and were unable to enforce them.
Transient – 4:01 p.m. – 7800 block of Valley View St. – A transient was reportedly sleeping in the bushes behind the business. Police determined that the subject was not sleeping, just walking around, and nothing illegal was occurring.

March 27, 2021

Found Person – 7:55 a.m. – Centerpointe – The caller stated that a five-year-old child was wandering in the lobby and was currently in the office. She walked in the snack bar area and didn’t know her room number. The caller believed that she was a guest of the hotel. The child was returned to her parents.
Disturbance (Music) – 10:27 p.m. – 8400 block of Walker St. – Subjects were reportedly yelling and playing music in the pool. Police contacted a couple of juveniles, who were advised.

March 28, 2021

Vehicle Burglary – 5:20 a.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The point of entry was a driver’s side window smash. The loss was unknown at this time. Report taken.
Vandalism Report – 7:10 a.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – Public Works was requested to be notified for blue spray paint to the rear of the business. Report taken. Code Enforcement notified.
Pedestrian Check – 7:34 a.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – Police contacted a subject who was crawling on the ground in front of Central Park across from the Police Department. The subject was extremely intoxicated and may have alcohol poisoning and slept in water all night. OCFA responded and the subject was transported to the hospital.
Petty Theft – 8:51 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – Police responded to a silent hold-up alarm and were advised that a male subject wearing all black clothing was suspected of petty theft. The subject fought officers and was detained in handcuffs. 26-year-old male subject arrested for shoplifting and resisting. The subject was booked at Orange County Jail.

March 29, 2021

Assist Other Department – 3:14 p.m. – 5000 block of Pine Cir. – La Palma Police were requested to assist Garden Grove Police, who found a vehicle in their city with the windows down, property on the ground near it, and keys in the ignition. The vehicle was on Brookhurst and Garden Grove Blvd. blocking a driveway. La Palma Police made contact with the owner, who advised that his vehicle broke down when his battery died. He will be contacting Garden Grove Police Department.
Identity Theft Report – 5:50 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – An unknown suspect reportedly used the reporting party’s name, work address, and Social Security number to file an EDD claim. Report taken.

March 30, 2021

Municipal Code Violation – 1:02 p.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – A female subject reportedly urinated in front of the business. Police were unable to locate the subject.

March 31, 2021

Disturbance (Subject) – 10:44 a.m. – 5500 block of Driftwood Ave. – The caller reported a verbal disturbance between roommates and requested that police keep the peace while the locksmith changed the locks on the bedroom. Both parties contacted and counseled. Report taken.
Petty Theft Report – 7:15 p.m. – 7300 block of Spruce Cir. – The caller reported the theft of two packages at the door. The caller had surveillance of the subject and possibly the vehicle involved. Report taken.
