Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer – the leading recall candidate – released the following statement joining State Senator Andreas Borgeas, California state legislators and Central Valley agricultural leaders in calling on Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency for California’s drought:
“It’s clear that California has entered another drought and with wildfire season fast approaching, it’s past time for Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency. I join state leaders including Senator Andreas Borgeas and the Central Valley agricultural community in calling on Newsom to do so immediately. When it comes to protecting Californians from wildfires, we must take every step to ensure their safety.”
