Cypress police blotter, April 26 to May 2, 2021

April 26, 2021

Burglary – 10:39 a.m. – 9000 block of Bloomfield – Between 4/23 at 5 p.m. and time of call, an unknown suspect entered the residence by forcing open a window. The loss was a dartboard and miscellaneous paperwork.
Stolen Vehicle – 6:30 p.m. – 5700 block of Mildred – The victim’s gray, 2013 Toyota Tundra was stolen from the driveway between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. The victim suspected his estranged son as the suspect. At 1:13 p.m., police located the vehicle unoccupied, parked to the rear of an address in the 5800 block of Corporate. The son was later located at a hotel on Corporate but denied any involvement.

April 27, 2021

Theft From Vehicle – 6:24 a.m. – 8800 block of Watson – Sometime overnight, a suspect entered and ransacked the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet. A short time later, the victim’s debit card was used for $200.
Burglary – 7:59 a.m. – 9200 block of Bloomfield – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect cut the lock off the carport storage locker and stole miscellaneous personal items.

April 28, 2021

Domestic Violence – 8:58 a.m. – 5900 block of Corporate – Officers responded regarding a family fight and learned that Suspect 1 and Suspect 2 had each struck one another. Suspect 1 had left the location prior to the arrival of police, and due to the inability to identify a primary aggressor and the lack of desire for prosecution by either party, a report was taken to document the incident.
Arrest – 11:13 a.m. – 9900 block of Walker St. – From a call for service, police arrested a male subject for warrants. The subject was also advised regarding trespassing laws to stay away from the store due to habitual shoplifting. The subject was absentee booked at Orange County Jail.

April 29, 2021

Arrest – 6:56 a.m. – 9200 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service at the location, a male subject was arrested for a parole violation.

April 30, 2021

Area Check – 1:50 a.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – While checking the business, Officers located an unsecured door. A search of the interior was conducted and a male subject was located and placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Suspicious Subject – 9:19 p.m. – Holder/Mt. Ripley – From a suspicious person call for service, police arrested a male subject for possession of metal knuckles. The subject was cited and released in the field.

May 1, 2021

Burglary – 3:29 a.m. – 5500 block of Lincoln Ave. – Between 2:30 a.m. and time of call, an unknown suspect forced entry into the business through the south window. Loss is four bicycles valued at $1200.00. Officers conducted follow-up and coordinated with dayshift in an attempt to identify a suspect. Report taken.
Pedestrian Check – 5:44 a.m. – 5600 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a pedestrian check, police arrested a male subject for an outstanding warrant and possession of fentanyl. The subject was cited and released in the field.
Arrest – 9:09 a.m. – Lincoln/Valley View – From a surveillance, police contacted and arrested a male subject for burglary, and possession of stolen property. With the subject’s cooperation, 4 of the 6 bikes were recovered and returned to the business. The subject was absentee booked at OCJ.
Suspicious Subject – 1:26 p.m. – 11500 block of Savaii – A person was observed creeping around two residences in the area, looking into windows from the side and rear yards. A retired officer contacted him and, believing he was intending to commit a burglary, he held him at gunpoint until officers arrived. During the investigation, police discovered the person was trying to reconnect with an ex-girlfriend, who resides at the listed address, but was not expecting the retired officer; the subject was not trying to break in. No crime was committed, and he was counseled and released. Report taken.
Hit and Run – 5:55 p.m. – Corporate/Valley View – From a hit and run traffic collision investigation, Officers arrested a male subject for felony hit and run after the subject collided into a pedestrian and fled the scene. The driver was located by officers at his residence. The pedestrian sustained minor visible injuries. The subject was transported and booked at Orange County Jail.

May 2, 2021

Brandishing a Weapon – 11:43 a.m. – 5600 block of Lincoln Ave. – The victim called to report that her ex-boyfriend brandished a handgun at her during an argument. The suspect fled prior to officer’s arrival due to having multiple outstanding warrants. Officers will conduct follow-up.
Residential Burglary – 8:35 p.m. – 9200 block of Bloomfield – Unknown suspect(s) forced entry to the front door of the apartment and stole $10,000 worth of jewelry from the master bedroom. Nothing else inside the apartment was disturbed. Occurred between 1 p.m. and time of call.
