City of Cypress issues request for proposals for Senior Transportation Services

The City of Cypress is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide both taxi voucher and nutrition taxi services for Cypress seniors. These programs are operated by the City in conjunction with the County’s Senior Mobility Program.

The Cypress Recreation & Community Services Department offers a Senior Transportation Program, providing transportation to qualifying Cypress residents 60 years of age or older. Transportation is available through both Taxi Voucher & Nutrition Taxi Programs.

The Taxi Voucher Program is a curb-to-curb taxi service providing local trips for medical appointments, shopping, banking, personal care, social and recreational. Each qualified participant is eligible to receive monthly taxi vouchers. In order to be eligible for this program, participants must meet income requirements.

The Nutrition Taxi Program is designed to offer transportation to the Cypress Senior Center for the Nutrition Program. In order to be eligible for this program, participants must participate in the Congregate Meal Program on the same day as the requested transportation, Monday – Friday. Transportation is available between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm only.

Interested vendors shall submit an electronic copy no later than Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. to Jenni Worsham, Recreation Supervisor, via e-mail at [email protected]

Any requests for clarification or other questions concerning this RFP must be submitted via email to Recreation Supervisor, Jenni Worsham no later than Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Responses will be provided to all interested parties by Monday, May 17, 2021.
