Garden Grove’s CERT invites community to “Meet ‘N’ Greet”

The community is invited to a “meet ‘n’ greet” with the City of Garden Grove’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to learn more about the program that trains volunteers to help first responders during a catastrophic event or disaster. The meet ‘n’ greet will take place on Saturday, June 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Garden Grove Courtyard Center, located at 12732 Main Street.

During the meet ‘n’ greet, community members will view life safety demonstrations and tour the CERT Response Vehicle. A continental breakfast will be served.

Administered by the Garden Grove Police Department, CERT is a group of community members trained to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a disaster. Community members are trained in basic first aid, firefighting, rescue techniques, and other skills to assist first responders and help the community.
