To whom it may concern:
Let’s address the Medal of Honor Bike-Pedestrian Trail Park with warning signs of heat exposure for animals walking on asphalt that the temperatures will be and cause paws to burn, when they ought to be walking on the deposed granite.
The need for water is now more than ever greater from heat dehydration. At this time, the City has not installed any drinking fountains are not anywhere along the 3700 feet of the trail; water is very basic amenity for public health safety. Money should be not the issue from past PRA response was waiting for grant, but rather seeking the community to raise the funds such as the Garden Grove Community Foundation (https://www.ggcf.com) or other nonprofits in Garden Grove.
Also, having shade with seating to rest in the heat is a safety issue along the trail since Mayor Jones was able at Euclid to add wood chairs. That can be carried over into the trail color benches, with Home Depot constructing shade over the areas where the colored benches are located, and please include trash cans with doggy bags.
