June 17, 2021

Health and Safety – 7:46 p.m. – 5000 block of Juniper Cir. – An unknown subject was reportedly smoking a substance at the end of the cul de sac and talking to himself. The caller believed that the substance was meth. Police made contact with the subject and determined that he was smoking a cigarette. The subject was sent on his way.

June 18, 2021

Suspicious Subject – 11:12 a.m. – 4700 block of Kent Cir. – A male subject was reportedly looking into residences. One subject was detained and positively identified. The subject was arrested for loitering on private property and transported to Orange County Jail.
Traffic Stop – 11:03 p.m. – Carmenita/South (Cerritos) – Following a traffic stop, police arrested a 26-year-old Cerritos resident for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. A substance was found inside the wallet. The arrestee advised that it was fentanyl.

June 19, 2021

Pedestrian Check – 9:40 p.m. – 7900 block of Valley View St. – Following a pedestrian check, police arrested a 51-year-old Garden Grove resident for a bench warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge.
Trespassing – 11:07 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller advised that the store was closed and that a female subject was still in the store. Police arrested a 41-year-old female subject for trespassing for refusing to leave the property at a peace officer’s request.

June 20, 2021

Area Check – 12:32 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The reporting party heard a loud sound like an explosion and the building shook. Power was out in the north part of the city. Southern California Edison worked on the outage and power was restored by 1:40 p.m.
Burglary Report – 5:55 p.m. – 4800 block of La Palma Ave. – A business was reportedly broken into overnight. The back door was broken. The loss was soda, cash, and kitchen supplies. Surveillance video was available. Report taken.
Disturbance (Subject) – 9:34 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A female subject reportedly exited a male subject’s truck, and the male was trying to take the female in the truck. Police responded and determined that the vehicle was in the Stolen Vehicle System. A 39-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicle theft, and possession of controlled substances.

June 21, 2021

Flag Down – 9:37 a.m. – 7800 block of Valley View St. – Police assisted a subject who was possibly attempting to check himself into a medical office. It was determined that the subject possibly took medication and was confused, as the subject drove to the doctor’s office and lost the vehicle possibly due to medication. The subject’s daughter arrived to pick up the subject. Assisted.
Disturbance (Family) – 8:21 p.m. – 5200 block of Sorrento Cir. – The caller requested that a 20 year-old subject leave home following a verbal argument. Party advised and will comply.

June 22, 2021

Petty Theft – 1:49 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The loss was cigarettes taken from behind the counter. The suspect physically threatened the reporting party. Prosecution was desired. Police located a subject matching the suspect’s description, and the subject was positively identified in the field by the reporting party. Police arrested a 29-year-old male subject for petty theft.
Citizen Assist – 9:10 a.m. – 7600 block of Laurelwood Ln. – The caller requested assistance flipping her couch over. The caller believed that her elderly cat may have crawled up in the couch and passed away. SEAACA would handle if the cat is deceased. The couch was flipped over and the cat was deceased. The caller was advised to contact SEAACA for removal.
Counseling – 7:57 a.m. – 8000 block of Redford Ln. – A neighbor reportedly confronted the reporting party about living in the neighborhood, walking her dog, and defecating on lawns. The reporting party felt harassed as the subject drove off saying “I’ll take care of you and you dog.” Counseled.
Reckless Driving – 8:56 p.m. – La Palma/Louise – A possible DUI vehicle was driving 25 MPH in 50 MPH zones with its lights off and swerving. The vehicle pulled into a driveway on Louise and was unoccupied when police arrived.

June 23, 2021

Petty Theft Report – 7:27 p.m. – 5400 block of Marview Dr. – At approximately 5:30 p.m., a gold chain was reportedly taken from the reporting party and replaced with another gold chain and was given a ring. Report taken.
Disturbance (Subject) – 7:51 p.m. – 8000 block of Louise Ln. – The reporting party stated that his girlfriend would not let him leave. Police contacted the female subject, who stated that the male half had already left. The male returned to his mother’s residence. Both parties counseled.
