This week, Rep. Young Kim announced raising over $1 million in the second quarter of 2021, leading the House Republican freshmen and solidifying her place as one of the top fundraisers in Congress. Kim enters the second half of the non-election year with nearly $1.5 million cash-on-hand, almost a million dollars more than her Democrat opponent Jay Chen.
The quarterly haul almost triples the fundraising number posted by her Democrat opponent, and builds on her already impressive fundraising record.
“Young Kim has spent her first six months in office keeping her promises, getting results, and relentlessly fighting to improve the quality of life for her constituents,” said Sam Oh, general consultant to Young Kim. “The campaign will continue to build off of this success and we are confident going into the 2022 election.”
Rep. Young Kim represents California’s 39th Congressional District, which includes portions of Orange, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino counties. Young Kim is a first generation Korean-American who ran for Congress to ensure every American has a chance at the American Dream. She was elected to Congress in November 2020 and sits on the House Committees on Foreign Affairs, Small Business, and Science, Space and Technology in the 117th Congress.
