The Diocese of Orange has launched a website dedicated to the Catholic deaf community to better reach the thousands of deaf and hard-of-hearing Catholics both within the Diocese itself and outside its boundaries.
This is the first time a website has been launched that is dedicated solely to the Catholic deaf community.
The video below of a Mass for the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 1, 2021, at Christ Cathedral is an example of what can be found at the website. The audio is supplemented with a sign language interpreter:
The website is available by visiting OCCatholicDeaf.org.
Also available for the Catholic deaf community is a YouTube Channel, ASL Catholic Media, and a Facebook page, @ASLCatholicMedia.
The site also provides information for other communities with special needs such as Down syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy.
