Construction resumes on Dave & Buster’s at Long Beach Towne Center

Vestar, the original developers and current managers of Long Beach Towne Center, a lifestyle center in the heart of Long Beach, California (https://www.lbtownecenter.com/), announced today that construction on the center’s long anticipated Dave & Buster’s has resumed after a year-long delay due to COVID. The Long Beach Towne Center food court was demolished in early 2020 to make way for the coming attraction, but the popular entertainment and dining venue was forced to pause construction of its 41,000-square-foot building in March 2020 due to COVID. The project has now resumed with structural foundation and utility installations first on tap. With construction underway, the new Dave & Buster’s, located across from the Regal Edwards Long Beach movie theater, is expected to be completed and open for business by the summer of 2022.

“There has been a tremendous amount of excitement about Dave & Buster’s throughout the community,” says Chris Andrews, General Manager for Vestar, the privately held retail real estate company that manages the shopping center. “But when COVID caused a temporary halt in the construction process, people grew concerned that its plans had changed. We want everyone to know that Dave & Buster’s is definitely still set on opening at Long Beach Towne Center. We’re excited to see the project resume, and hope there will be no further impediments to its progress. Having Dave & Buster’s open will reactivate The Promenade and draw the attention of other new tenants that might want to make Long Beach Towne Center their home as well.”

Dave & Buster’s combines a full-service restaurant with an extensive video arcade and multi-screen sports bar. With a wide array of exclusive new interactive and simulator video games, classic video games, an extensive food and drink menu, and screening rooms for UFC and other sporting events, Dave & Buster’s is the perfect venue for everything from date night to parties, team-building, and social events.
