July 29, 2021

Municipal Code Violation – 6:17 a.m. – 7900 block of Walker St. – The caller reported an ongoing issue with a contract gardener using a hand blower, waking the family up, and stated that this was the fourth week that this had occurred. Police contacted and warned the subject.
Counseling – 10:15 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party reportedly received threats through social media. The incident occurred in Santa Ana, so the reporting party was advised to speak with officers from the Santa Ana Police Department. The reporting party requested to speak with a La Palma Police Officer first.

July 30, 2021

Suspicious Subject – 5:48 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A subject had reportedly been going up to vehicles and checking door handles. Police made contact with the subject at the southeast corner of the complex. The subject was detained in cuffs and subsequently arrested for possession of unlawful paraphernalia. He was later released on citation.
Fire – 7:04 p.m. – Walker/Fresca – OCFA was en route to the location for a fallen power line. It was determined that a transformer blew but no lines were down and there was no fire. Southern California Edison was notified. Dispatch was requested to contact nearby businesses to advise of potential power outages.

July 31, 2021

Disturbance (Subject) – 10:14 a.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject requested the reporting party call 911 regarding a subject threatening him. The subject advised that a restraining order was in place. Police arrested a 33-year-old male subject for domestic battery and violation of a domestic violence court order and transported the subject to Orange County Jail.
Traffic Stop – 11:41 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – Following a traffic stop, Police arrested a 20-year-old male subject for giving a false identity to police and disobeying a court order. The subject was transported to Orange County Jail.

August 1, 2021

Stray Animal – 9:40 a.m. – 91 Eastbound Onramp – A cat was reportedly heard meowing from the onramp. Message left for SEAACA.
Patrol Check – 3:55 p.m. – Edison Right-of-Way – A tree was down between Laurelwood and Moody, possibly due to dry rot. Cuation tape was put around it and a Redi Letter was sent to Public WOrks.
Patrol Check – 8:49 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – Two male subjects appeared to be on small dirt bikes in the area. Police contacted the subjects at the pedestrian crossing at Walker/Byrne and determined no crime had occurred.

August 2, 2021

Counseling – 8:57 a.m. – 7800 block of Nancy Cir. – The reporting party was concerned about a tenant’s hallucinations and anger management problem. A roommate made comments about a possible bomb in his room. The subject declined to make visual contact at the front door. No further assistance requested.
Disturbance (Subject) – 10:39 a.m. – 5000 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A subject was reportedly walking around with a hammer and yelling. Police located the subject and found the hammer inside a vehicle. A 36-year-old male subject was arrested for brandishing a weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. He was transported and booked at Orange County Jail.

August 3, 2021

Pedestrian Check – 3:42 p.m. – Walker/Crescent – Police contacted two juveniles who were in possession of a stolen shopping cart. Party advised and will comply. The property was returned to the business.
Reckless Driving – 7:52 p.m. – Walker/La Palma – A group of approximately 30 motorcycles were reportedly doing wheelies and stopping traffic westbound on La Palma Ave. The group headed westbound over the bridge into Los Angeles County.

August 4, 2021

Burglary Report – 3:50 p.m. – 7000 block of Walker St. – The clubhouse was broken into between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. with an unknown point of entry. The loss included keys and a gate remote, valued at $500.
Reckless Driving – 9:25 p.m. – La Palma/Denni – A driver was reportedly slurring speech and swerving. A front headlight was out. Police performed a traffic stop and conducted field sobriety tests. A 55-year-old female subject was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and DUI. The vehicle was impounded and stored. The female was uncooperative in the jail and police assisted the technician with a blood draw. The subject was subsequently released and waited for a cab.
