Calling all dogs big and small, mutts and pure breeds! Long Beach’s Waters Edge Winery is hosting a “Winery Dogs” fundraiser August 26 benefiting Sparky & the Gang Animal Rescue, organizers announced.

Organized by Long Beach Food & Beverage, Waters Edge Winery will arrange for dogs to be professionally photographed for a $20 donation on August 26, National Dog Day, time frame 10am – 5pm. Appointments are recommended but every effort will be made to accommodate walk-ins. Those photographed will receive a place on the wall inside the winery, as well as a print of their own to take home once printed.

In addition, special Sparky & the Gang labeled bottles of wine will be available for sale with proceeds going to the cause.

Adding to the fun will be an appearance by a selection of adoptable dogs from Sparky & the Gang, where guests can meet and greet several of the dogs available for adoption and hopefully commit to giving one a loving forever home.

“We’ve always known that Long Beach loves their dogs, and Waters Edge Winery has always welcomed dogs to join their pet parents on our dog friendly patio”, stated proprietor/wine maker Collin Mitzenmacher. “With my own dog Molly, along with being a long-time dog lover myself, this was a fun way to show our appreciation for other dog lovers by including them on our portrait wall that will also benefit a great cause.”

“We were excited that Waters Edge Winery chose us as the beneficiary of their ‘Winery Dogs’ initiative”, added Sparky & the Gang’s Sherri Stankewitz. “We hope to get some of our dogs adopted out to forever homes that day as well.”

Pet parents can simply make an appointment HERE and donating their $20 to hold their time. “Winery Dogs” photographs will be added to the portrait wall, and the dog owner will also receive a copy of the photo once printed.
