August 12, 2021

Municipal Code Violation – 6:24 a.m. – 7900 block of Walker St. – The caller reported an ongoing issue for vendors to the rear of the hospital making noise before 7:00 a.m. He stated that he had notified the hospital. Police warned the subjects, and they advised that they would not start back up until after 7 a.m. and that they would do something that didn’t make noise for now.
Traffic Stop – 10:28 p.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – During a traffic stop, police conducted field sobriety tests on the driver of a vehicle, who was subsequently arrested for driving without registration and possession of controlled substance. The vehicle was left legally parked at the location.

August 13, 2021

Extra Patrol Checks – 2:29 p.m. – 5400 block of La Luna Dr. – Students reportedly park on La Luna on the caller’s trash day, blocking her trash cans. The caller requested extra patrol checks for students parking along La Luna.
Traffic Stop – 10:09 p.m. – Marlin/Fresca – During a traffic stop, police conducted a search and subsequently arrested a 37-year-old Los Angeles resident for possession of a controlled substance, driving without a license, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and driving without registration. The subject was later released on citation.

August 14, 2021

Fire – 6:14 a.m. – Moody/Sharon – A traffic cone was reportedly on fire. A subject on a bicycle put the fire out and advised that a possible suspect was seen walking towards Cerritos. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Pedestrian Check – 7:28 a.m. – 7000 block of Moody St. – A female subject advised of a possible theft. The suspect was with her about five minutes prior. Police conducted a pedestrian stop on the subject. The loss was a gray laptop, two phones, and a blue vape. Police arrested a 36-year-old male subject for possession of unlawful paraphernalia, petty theft, and receiving stolen property.
Brandishing a Weapon – 3:43 p.m. – Orangethorpe/Walker – A subject reportedly shot a pistol into the air. According to surveillance footage, the suspect got into a vehicle with a female subject and headed southbound on Walker. Buena Park Police assisted with the search and investigation. All lanes of traffic on Walker were reopened around 7:30 p.m.
Patrol Check – 10:39 p.m. – Fresca/Marlin – Police conducted a patrol check to the rear of the area and contacted a subject while on foot at Fullerton Creek. Police contacted a subject, who was subsequently arrested for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge and transported to Orange County Jail.

August 15, 2021

Keep the Peace – 7:52 p.m. – 5500 block of Conifer Dr. – Police were requested to keep the peace while the reporting party and a male subject exchange a dog. The reporting party advised that the subject threw an unknown item at the garage door, causing damage to the window, but the RP had already taped the window and there was no evidence of the incident. Report taken.
Assault – 9:35 p.m. – 5200 block of Los Encantos Cir. – The reporting party advised that a subject assaulted him by hitting him in the face. Police and OCFA responded. One subject was arrested.

August 16, 2021

Suspicious Subject – 9:04 a.m. – 7200 block of Rampart Ln. – A subject was reportedly trying door handles. It was unknown if the subject was leaving flyers. Police contacted the subject, who was determined to be hanging a construction service advertisement on door handles.
Area Check – 5:42 p.m. – 5300 block of Verner Dr. – A vehicle reportedly stopped to talk to the caller’s female neighbor but sped off when the male reporting party and husband went to assist the female. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

August 17, 2021

Illegally Parked Vehicles – 8:35 a.m. – 7800 block of Barbi Ln. – Vehicles were parked on the street, blocking the caller’s trash cans. This had reportedly been ongoing for the past four years. Police determined the vehicles were legally parked. The resident was unable to place the trash cans in front of the residence. Both parties were counseled.
Suspicious Subject – 4:51 p.m. – 5000 block of Via Helena – Three subjects were reportedly near the complex gate with possibly six suitcases or bags. It appeared that the subjects and the belongings were picked up by a van. Police contacted the subjects, who checked okay. There was no crime. The driver was cited.
