August 18, 2021

Suspicious Circumstances – 8:57 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The subject stated that he was being chased by people. Police spoke to a store employee, who stated that the subject appeared okay but was saying different things for the store to call 911. Police contacted the subjects, who requested medics for a broken arm and blood pressure. There was no evidence of a broken arm. Police arrested the subject for bench warrants for failure to appear and trasnported him to Orange County Jail.

August 19, 2021

Identity Theft Report – 11:21 a.m. – 7800 block of Nancy Cir. – The caller’s adult son reportedly used her credit card and made fraudulent charges without her permission. Report taken.
Traffic Stop – 10:40 p.m. – 91 Freeway/Orangethorpe – During a traffic stop, police performed field sobriety tests on the driver. Police then arrested the 25-year-old female subject for DUI. The vehicle was left legally parked and secured in a parking lot at the owner’s request. The arrested subject was booked and subsequently released to family.

August 20, 2021

Disturbance (Subject) – 11:33 a.m. – Orangethorpe/Coyote Creek – A female subject had reportedly been yelling profanities in the area since the night before. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Grand Theft Report – 12:27 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party reported approximately $4000 in fraudulent transactions on the reporting party’s EDD card.

August 21, 2021

Area Check – 10:14 a.m. – 7500 block of Trabuco Ln. – The caller’s father-in-law had been sick and she did not believe that it was safe for him to drive. Police were unable to locate the subject. Reporting party counseled.
Welfare Check – 4:58 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject was reportedly screaming and hitting himself in the head. Police contacted the subject, who refused services and advised that he would be leaving the area via rideshare.

August 22, 2021

Disturbance (Noise) – 2:50 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject was reportedly chanting over a megaphone. Police determined that the subject was not in violation of any ordinance or committing a crime and that he was on a public sidewalk.
Suspicious Circumstances – 3:23 p.m. – 6500 block of Valley View St. – A subject was reportedly screaming that he had a gun and would shoot everyone. No weapon was seen. The subject damaged vehicles with his legs when he was detained in cuffs. The subject was placed on a mental health hold.

August 23, 2021

Medical Aid – 4:17 p.m. – 7800 block of Inwood Ln. – An 82-year-old male subject fell in the garage and his had was split open. The subject was on blood thinners. OCFA responded and the subject was treated and transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Assist Other Department – 10:12 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office advised that they had three robberies recently with a similar suspect description. One occurred in Lakewood at a gas station and two at convenience stores in Paramount. They also advised that LASO Norwalk had one robbery with similar circumstances. Buena Park Police and Cypress Police were advised of the circumstances.

August 24, 2021

Transient – 8:40 a.m. – 4300 block of Robin Dr. – The caller reported a possible transient to the rear of the residence in the creek. The subject appeared to be placing a tent. Police contacted the subject, who refused services and left the area.
Municipal Code Violation – 7:16 p.m. – 5500 block of Orange Ave. – A subject was reportedly seen trash digging. Police contacted the reporting party, who advised that the subject was naked with a jersey wrapped around his bottom half. There was no damage to the property, but the reporting party did want the subject advised for trespassing. Police contacted the subject, who was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and a bench warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge. The subject was transported and booked at Orange County Jail.

August 25, 2021

Suspicious Vehicle – 7:43 a.m. – Lemonwood/Driftwood – A male subject was possibly living out of a white SUV with possible drug activity. The caller believed that the male subject was passed out and the vehicle may be stolen. Police contacted the subject and conducted a search of the vehicle. The 36-year-old male was arrested on various drug possession charges.
Disturbance (Subject) – 3:23 p.m. – 6500 block of Valley View St. – A terminated employee was reportedly in the parking lot making threats to other employees while waiting for a ride. The subject was contacted and advised that the company did not want him on the property anymore. The subject went across the street to wait for the ride.
Area Check – 10:17 p.m. – La Palma/Westra – The caller reported hearing a gunshot in the area. It was determined that the loud noise was a firework from that area and that units heard it while in the back parking lot of the police department. Area checked okay.
