St. Catherine’s Academy, (SCA) an all-boys’ Catholic school with a military tradition located in Anaheim, CA was recently recognized for the “Best Military Tradition School” by Parenting OC Magazine. Voted by Parenting OC’s readers and staff, St. Catherine’s Academy was recognized for the second consecutive year in this category.
St. Catherine’s Academy was founded in 1889 by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose. For over 132 years, the academy has been educating boys in
kindergarten through 8th grade by providing a strong Catholic faith rooted from the Dominican Charism, a robust academic program, and an extraordinary
military tradition program. Furthermore, St. Catherine’s Academy offers a junior 5-day and 7-day boarding program which teaches independence, structure, and responsibility.
“I am so proud of our military tradition program and our military directors for their fine work and commitment in building leaders of faith and for providing
our students with structure and discipline,” said Sister Johnellen Turner, Principal and Administrator. “I truly feel that spirituality and military are the perfect combination to help boys find their moral compass.”
St. Catherine’s military tradition promotes a variety of life skills, such as planning, following directions, working as a team, setting goals, and overcoming obstacles.
Through this unique platform, students become responsible, self-confident young men. They learn to be leaders of honor and integrity through hands-on experience
in a peer leadership environment.
