Trojans ride the roller coaster down to defeat by Oregon State, 45-27

USC freshman QB Jaxson Dart was injured in last week’s win against Washington State. Kedon Slovis returned this week as the Trojans’ quarterback after sustaining an injury in that same game.

The first quarter ended in a tied score, 7-7.

USC was quick to score in the second quarter but Oregon State responded with two touchdowns toward the end of the quarter. With no time left on the clock, the Trojans put another 3 points up with a 26-yard field goal to end the half.

The third quarter saw Oregon State add two more touchdowns without any answering points from USC. In four minutes of the fourth quarter, Oregon rang up another touchdown before USC had a chance to add to its score. By the final whistle, the Trojans had lessened the embarrassment by tacking on another touchdown and a field goal for a final score of 45-27 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Trojans will be on the road next Saturday, at Colorado, and with an early start at 11 a.m. PT.
