The US Coast Guard has issued the following bulletin regarding harbor restrictions related to the oil spill off of Huntington Beach:
- In cooperation with local jurisdictions, Univied Command has announced that the Captain of the Port will open Newport Harbor and Dana Point Harbor to all vessel traffic on Ocober 8, 2021 at 9 p.m. PT.
- A safety zone will continue to cover all navigable waters within a 1,000-yard radius of the M/V OCEAN GUARDING (O.N. 1238260), M/V OCEAN DEFENDER (O.N. 1242242), M/V CALIFORNIA RESPONDER (O.N. 983102) and associated salvage vessel operations. No vessel or person will be permitted to enter the safety zone without obtaining permission from the COTP or a designated representative.
- A unified command has been established with the Coast Guard, the State of California, County of Orange, and the Responsible Party.
