Long Beach Republican Women Federated to hear from Dr. Brenda Flores on human trafficking

The community is invited to attend the Saturday, November 13, 2021, Long Beach Republican Women Federated breakfast meeting to hear Dr. Brenda Flores discuss the issues of human trafficking including the various types of trafficking, and the forces that lead people to be both victims and perpetrators. Flores will also discuss common myths surrounding the issue of human trafficking, current trends in our community, red flags to recognize signs of trafficking around us, applying victim centered perspectives, and action steps to make a difference in our own communities.

Flores, a native of southern California, completed her undergraduate studies at La Sierra University and received her Master of Social Work and PhD in Social Policy and Research from Loma Linda University. She is currently a Victim Assistance Specialist for Homeland Security Investigations after serving as an Asylum Officer and Immigration officer for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Dr. Flores started her career in local child welfare working with domestic victims of abuse and then foreign national victims with the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement. Her presentations have been at numerous professional conferences and seminars along with having participated in numerous state legislative workgroups and local taskforces.

Conveniently held at The Grand in Long Beach (4101 E. Willow Street), the morning meeting includes information that would benefit all members of the community. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with a scrumptious breakfast served at 9:30 a.m. The cost is just $30 for members and $35 for non-members and there is free parking and the delicious plated breakfast.

In addition to Dr. Flores’s informative presentation, the breakfast meeting offers like-minded women and men an opportunity to learn more about Republican Women Federated and how they can be part of America’s largest grassroots organization. For information and reservations:
