October 28, 2021

Found Property – 7:05 a.m. – 4900 block of Borrego Dr. – A wallet and its contents were found on the caller’s lawn. Report taken. Later, two other reporting parties separately came to the station with possibly related items, including a wallet and partial contents as well as various credit cards found on Tolouse and Rampart.
Assault/Battery Report – 4:35 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – The caller’s daughter was reportedly involved in a fight with two or three other girls in school. The girls pulled the daughter’s hair and struck her with fists. The daughter attempted to defend herself. A security guard attempted to restrain the daughter and her shoulder was now possibly dislocated. Report taken.
Petty Theft Report – 5:31 p.m. – 7500 block of Silverado Ln. – The reporting party’s purse was stolen out of a vehicle that was possibly left unlocked overnight. It was determined that the reporting party was the owner of property located earlier in the shift off Borrego. Report taken.

October 29, 2021

Traffic Collision – 8:08 a.m. – La Palma/Westra – Two vehicles were involved in a traffic collision. A tow truck was requested. Two elderly Huntington Beach residents were transported back to their place of work in Cerritos. Report taken.
Disturbance (Subject) – 10:38 a.m. – 6900 block of Walker St. – A customer was reportedly creating a disturbance with the staff. Police determined that the subject was upset after bringing in a somewhat healthy dog for a checkup and the dog was mistakenly euthanized.
Theft by False Pretense – 5:00 p.m. – 6600 block of Montaire Pl. – The reporting party was reportedly scammed by an unknown subject who called her and advised that they would fix a computer issue for her. The RP wire transferred $180,000 to an unknown subject after she believed they emptied out three separate bank accounts. Report taken.

October 30, 2021

Disturbance (Subject) – 1:35 p.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject was reportedly sitting in the patio area, talking to herself and refusing to leave. The subject was wearing multiple hoodies and green cargo pants. The subject left the location when police arrive and did not want assistance. The subject yelled “Do not get close to me” when police approached.
Suspicious Vehicle – 3:15 p.m. – Shirley/Cory – A subject reportedly got out of a vehicle and hid in the bushes. The reporting party pointed out a white vehicle, which was determined to be occupied by five mariachis preparing for a party that evening.

October 31, 2021

Drunk Driver – 7:25 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – Police contacted a male subject in a vehicle with significant traffic collision damage, which possibly occurred in either La Palma or Long Beach. Police performed field sobriety tests on the male subject, who was subsequently arrested for DUI, driving without registration, and hit and run. The subject was released on citation to his girlfriend.
Traffic Stop – 11:14 p.m. – 7000 block of Valley View St. – Following a traffic stop, police arrested a 41-year-old Santa Ana resident for a bench warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge. The subject was booked and transported to Orange County Jail.

November 1, 2021

Public Works Information – 4:59 p.m. – 5000 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The reporting party advised that the sign in between Starbucks and McDonald’s points one-way traffic upon exit in the wrong direction. Police were unable to remove the sign, which directed traffic westbound but the only destination of travel was eastbound. Public Works advised.
Welfare Check – 5:45 p.m. – Windsong/Suffield – The caller requested a welfare check on a subject who was asking for directions to Anaheim on foot. The female subject advised that she was just released from the hospital and was still wearing a hospital band. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Missing Adult – 7:46 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The reporting party reported her adult daughter missing. The RP advised that she and her daughter work together and the daughter had not shown up for work. Police contacted the subject by phone and she advised that she was in Vegas over the weekend and was okay and that she didn’t want to speak to her family.

November 2, 2021

Lost/Stolen Property – 8:52 a.m. – 7500 block of Black Star Ln. – The reporting party lost a wallet with contents approximately two weeks prior. Report taken.
Transient – 10:21 a.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – A transient was reportedly smoking on the patio. The staff asked the subject not to smoke, and the subject was making customers uncomfortable. The female subject left the location and walked to the bus stop on La Palma just west of Walker.
Petty Theft – 3:41 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The reporting party stated that a female subject had been at the location all day stealing from the business. The owner of the business desired prosecution and signed a private persons arrest form. Police arrested a 24-year-old Long Beach resident for shoplifting. The subject was released on citation after paramedics looked at an old injury.

November 3, 2021

Transient – 7:54 a.m. – Edison Right-of-Way/Walker – Police contacted a female subject sleeping along the Edison Right-of-Way just east of Walker St. The subject did want to go to a shelter and was transported to the Navigation Center in Buena Park, where she was admitted.
Welfare Check – 8:02 p.m. – Walker/Moody – A subject was reportedly limping and holding his side like he was in pain. The reporting party advised the subject of La Palma Hospital and the subject responded that he was going there, but was seen going into the alley in the Walmart complex instead. Police were unable to locate the subject.
