Vendors and entertainment announced for Long Beach International Tamales Festival

Long Beach Living’s Long Beach International Tamales Festival 2021, in collaboration with Roxanne’s Bar & Grill, is coming soon! This all-day holiday inspired fair features a diverse selection of Latin American cuisine, from regional tamales, Latin inspired dishes, drinks, tequila tastings, a best homemade tamales contest, and a full line-up of entertainment, activities, and vendors of all kinds!

The event will take place at the Scottish Rite Events Centre on Sunday, December 5th, 2021 from 12:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. Join in celebrating this new holiday tradition. Buy tickets today at lbtamalesfest.com. Long Beach Transit will provide free bus ride tickets to people in need in partnership with local organizations. 

Tamales Fest is hosted by Comedian Hoozay, the creator of Pupusa Comedy. Eclectic music performances by Mariachi Relámpago,  folklórico ensemble Relámpago del Cielo, salsa and Colombian cumbia by La Mera Candelaria, and sets from DJs Las Chicas Tristes, keeping music going all day long.

See who wins the Homemade Tamale Contest, which will be judged by Hotel Maya’s Fuego restaurant Executive Chef Victor Juarez, Long Beach City College Culinary School’s Executive Chef Haley Nguyen, and local influencers.

Enjoy family friendly art making activities. Arts Council for Long Beach and Museum of Latin American Art are partnering to host holiday-themed arts projects and traditional Latin American crafts.

Cuisine vendors offer something for everyone to dine on. Enjoy good eats from Breaktime Long Beach, Camacho Bros Catering, El Barrio Cantina, El Esquite, Northgate Market, Roxanne’s Bar, Asadero Chikali @asaderochikali, The Tamale Café, Shane’s Tamales, Oaxaca Foods, and students of the Culinary Arts Department at Long Beach City College will also be selling tamales and more!

Community vendors feature artisanal goods of all kinds. Some participating businesses include Planteria Latina y Casa, Tlapallis Life, Melissa’s Produce, Dynamo’s Dills, Boutique Leon, and Polar Beverages, and Weee!
