Two-car collision on 405 Fwy south of Seal Beach Blvd. claims two lives

On Saturday, November 13, 2021, at approximately 11:51 P.M., a two vehicle traffic collision occurred in the area of southbound I-405, south of Seal Beach Boulevard.

A 39 year old male from the city of Garden Grove was driving a 2014 Volkswagen southbound along I-405, south of Seal Beach Blvd. at a high rate of speed when it collided with A 2000 Honda occupied by a driver and one passenger. The impact from the collision caused the Honda to erupt into flames.

As a result of this collision, both occupants of the Honda sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Volkswagen sustained major injuries was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

This investigation is ongoing however, impairment is suspected as a factor in this collision. The driver of the Volkswagen was placed under arrest for suspicion of D.U.I.
