Interactive map of proposed new voting districts now available

The California Citizens Redistricting Commission has posted interactive maps for proposed Congressional, Assembly, and State Senate districts online at www.wedrawthelinesca.org/map_viewer. Using the interactive online map makes it much easier to see the proposed new voting districts than the previously-released graphics.

Once you have clicked through to the interactive map, you will need to zoom in on Orange County for details. To zoom in, click on the circled plus sign + in the upper left corner, then click-and-drag on the map to bring the area of interest — Orange County — back into view. You may need to click, then click-and-drag four or five times to get the view that you want.

Other voting districts are also being decided on, but not by the Citizens Redistricting Commission. For example, the Orange County Board of Supervisors is working to redraw supervisorial districts.

Because the time is short before the Redistricting Commission is required to approve the new voting districts, you should make a point of looking over the proposed new districts and commenting as soon as possible using the Commission’s online comment form at https://airtable.com/shrQDD2ta2emnSzzO.
