Guitarist extraordinaire Benise celebrates 20th Anniversary Tour at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts

This one’s going to be a sizzler! Armed with his Spanish guitar and a stage full of musicians and elaborately choreographed dancers, Emmy winner BENISE brings his 20th ANNIVERSARY TOUR to the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Sunday, January 9, 7:00 PM. Tickets for the sensational showcase start from $55, and are available at the CCPA Ticket Office and cerritoscenter.com or by calling (562) 916-8500.

Benise takes the audience on a romantic and magical journey celebrating two decades of fiery Spanish guitar and dance, including the Spanish Flamenco, Cuban Salsa, Brazilian Samba, Parisian Waltz, exotic drumming, and more. The tour establishes Benise’s Emmy-winning show as one of the longest running global Latin-themed theatrical productions and solidifies Benise as America’s foremost native-born ambassador of Spanish guitar.

From his humble beginnings as a street musician to performing in theaters around the globe, Benise is celebrated for his virtuoso Flamenco Nouveau style, mesmerizing audiences with colorful showcases filled with vibrant dancers, exotic drums, Gypsy violin, Cirque performers, and dramatic theatrical lighting.

Since age 11, Roni Benise taught himself to play the guitar and mastered a variety of different styles that eventually meshed to become his own unique technique. When he was rejected by all the Los Angeles clubs, Benise started playing on the streets, quickly winning the admiration of native Angelenos and tourists from around the world who called him the “Pied Piper” of the Spanish guitar.

Though unable to read music, Benise composed original works that were embraced widely for their edgy, exotic, and sensual personality. From the street shows, his crowd-pleasing performances took on a life of their own, showcasing a colorful assembly of dancers, cirque performers, percussionists, and African tribal drummers. Benise added stage theatrics and eye-catching lighting to complement the music and mood, dazzling audiences whose word-of-
mouth quickly led to sold-out concerts worldwide and the Emmy-winning PBS special Nights of Fire!
