City of Lakewood: How to help those in need during the holidays

Subaru 2021 Share the Love Campaign helps Meals on Wheels

Planning to buy a new vehicle this holiday season?

Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased from Nov. 18, 2021 through Jan. 3, 2022 to four national charities designated by the purchaser or lessee.

Lakewood Meals on Wheels is very excited to partner with Timmons Subaru again this year for the Share the Love Event.

Timmons Subaru recently opened its newest dealership on Cherry Ave. in Lakewood, so purchasing your new car there will benefit Meals on Wheels and keep your sales tax money right here in the Lakewood community. Just remember to designate Meals on Wheels as your preferred charity when you do.

Good Neighbor program sponsors meals for neighbors in need

The Lakewood Meals on Wheels Good Neighbor Sponsorship program offers individuals and businesses a way to help provide meals to their homebound neighbors in greatest need.

Meals on Wheels offers services to all clients regardless of income or ability to pay.

The annual donations of Good Neighbor Sponsors help subsidize free or reduced-cost meals for those low-income Lakewood neighbors who can’t afford the cost.

Lakewood Meals on Wheels is a non-profit, community agency supported by many private contributors. Contributions are tax deductible and may be made online at www.lakewoodcity.org/DonateMOW or by mail to Lakewood Meals on Wheels, 5510 Clark Ave., Lakewood CA 90712.

For more information about how to join the Good Neighbor Sponsorship Program, contact Lakewood Meals on Wheels at 562-925-8784.
