Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-48) released the below statement today following news that the consumer price index rose 7% in December, marking the highest inflation rate since June 1982.
“California families are tired of skyrocketing costs and of paying more for almost everything, every day under the Biden Administration. Inflation’s 40-year-high means everything from gasoline, to groceries, to basic necessities are more expensive. In one of the highest tax states in the country, inflation is just another burden on hard-working families that are sick and tired of paying more and getting less. Until Washington gets its spending under control, inflation will continue to rise and it’s hard-working families that will continue to pay the price.”
