January 17, 2022

Vehicle Burglary – 9:50 a.m. – 4400 block of Casa Grande – Between 1:30 a.m. and time of call, an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle via a window smash and stole a laptop, clothes and gifts from Christmas.
Grand Theft – 8:30 p.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – Occurred between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The victim left his wallet containing $1000 cash and credit cards in a locker. When he returned, the locker was still locked but his wallet had been stolen.
Pedestrian Check – 11:47 p.m. – Knott/Lincoln – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for possession of a replica handgun, and a second male subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

January 18, 2022

Assist Outside Agency – 12:15 p.m. – 4800 block of Katella Ave. – A county-wide broadcast was issued on behalf of Garden Grove Police Department regarding a domestic violence incident, with the weapon being a handgun. While a Cypress officer was speaking with security, the suspect drove past him and stopped in the parking lot. With the assistance of Los Alamitos Police, a felony car stop was conducted and the suspect was handed over to Garden Grove Police.
Vehicle Burglary – 6:34 a.m. – 4700 block of Larwin – Sometime between 1/16 and time of call, an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle by defeating the locking mechanism.
Pedestrian Check – 9:30 p.m. – Knott/Lincoln – During a pedestrian stop, a male subject fled on foot, which resulted in a short foot pursuit. He was arrested for obstructing/delaying an officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a warrant.

January 19, 2022

Domestic Violence Investigation – 12:13 p.m. – 6100 block of Chip – Officers responded to a domestic violence that just occurred and were able to track down the male half. The subject had been in an altercation with his girlfriend, who had fled prior to the arrival of police and would not answer her telephone or come forward as a possible victim. After the initial assault, the subject was then assaulted by the father of his girlfriend, who also fled prior to police arrival, and the subject did not desire prosecution for that assault. A report was taken, however police were unable to name a victim and all parties were separated prior to arrival
Stolen Vehicle Investigation – 3:20 p.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – Within 15 minutes of the call, an unknown suspect stole the victims white 2018 Lexus RX350. The vehicle was stolen using the key, which had been taken from a locker inside the gym.
Traffic Accident (Hit and Run) – 9:06 p.m. – Walker south of Crescent – Officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run where the suspect had struck multiple parked vehicles on Walker St. and fled into a condo complex in the 8500 block of Walker St. A male subject was located and arrested for hit-and-run, DUI, and DUI over .08.

January 20, 2022

Burglary – 3:27 a.m. – 9200 block of Bloomfield – Between 5:30 p.m. and 3:20 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) shattered the side window and ransacked the Manager’s office. The loss was an older iPad mini valued at $250.00.
Vehicle Burglary Report – 9:13 a.m. – 5900 block of Ball Rd. – Between 01-19-22 at 4 p.m. and today at 9 a.m., unknown suspect smashed the window to a moving truck and stole registration paperwork.

January 21, 2022

Stolen Vehicle Report – 7:15 a.m. – 6100 block of Lincoln Ave. – An unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle, a black 2012 Acura CSX. The victim had left his keys in the vehicle and believed that the crime occurred between 5 a.m. and 7:15 a.m.. The vehicle was later located and recovered (unoccupied) in the City of Buena Park.
Arrest – 7:49 a.m. – 4600 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a call for service of a subject who had forced his way into a vacant apartment, a male subject was arrested for burglary, felony vandalism, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Traffic Collision/STAR Team Call-out – 8:35 p.m. – Crescent/Carob – A vehicle collided with a subject riding a motorized shopping cart in the crosswalk. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.

January 22, 2022

Illegal Dumping – 11:20 a.m. – 6200 block of Gateway Dr. – Cement and debris were dumped in the
middle of the roadway and causing a traffic hazard.
Vehicle Burglary – 7:08 p.m. – 11300 block of Valley View St. – Occurred within the last five minutes, a male subject wearing all dark clothing used a skateboard to smash the victim’s vehicle window and steal a wallet and security jacket. The subject was last seen southbound on Valley View. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate the subject. The victim later called back and said his ignition was punched and he was unable to drive it.
Suspicious Vehicle – 9:03 p.m. – 8800 block of Watson – A witness observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Upon contact, the subject was arrested after it was determined he was stealing gas from vehicles on the premises, and was in possession of a narcotic paraphernalia and stolen property.

January 23, 2022

Attempted Vehicle Theft – 11:34 a.m. – 6200 block of Ball Rd. – Sometime in the last 24 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked work truck and damaged the ignition in a failed attempt to steal the vehicle
Stolen Vehicle – 5:46 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – At 2 p.m., a homeless subject allowed her homeless friend to “hang out” in her gold, 2009 Toyota Corolla, with the keys. At approximately 1:10 p.m., the victim went to her vehicle and saw it was stolen.
