January 24, 2022

Grand Theft – 10:00 a.m. – 4000 block of Cardiff Dr. – Between 01/22 at 8 p.m. and 01/23 at 11:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter from the victims 2005 Honda Accord. There are no witnesses and no surveillance video footage. The victim does not desire prosecution. Report taken for documentation.
Vehicle Theft – 12:52 p.m. – 11500 block of Manila Dr. – The victim reported his 2007 Nissan Titan was stolen from the street in front of his residence on 01/23/22 at approximately 2 p.m. A possible suspect was the victim’s daughter. The victim desired prosecution if the suspect is located. Dispatch entered the vehicle into the Stolen Vehicle System.
Grand Theft – 1:33 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – Loss Prevention reported a known female suspect inside of the store concealing merchandise and leaving the business without paying. This was the second theft this week. During both incidents the suspect stole over $1000.00 worth of merchandise. The suspect was identified. Officers attempted to locate the suspect at her residence but were met with negative results.

January 25, 2022

Traffic Stop – 6:15 a.m. – Valley View/Lakeshore – From a traffic stop, Officers arrested a male subject for driving without a license. He was cited and released in the field.
Grand Theft – 6:39 a.m. – 4500 block of Larwin Ave. – The victim reported the catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle sometime overnight. Her 2007 Toyota Prius was parked in the carport of the complex. There were no witnesses to the crime and no suspect information.
Grand Theft – 11:57 a.m. – 8900 block of Electric St. – Sometime over the last two weeks, an unknown suspect entered the property by cutting a hole in the fence, and stole the victim’s catalytic converter from his motorhome. There is no video surveillance on the property and no suspect information.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 8:38 p.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – Officers located a gold Toyota Corolla that was stolen on Sunday night. The vehicle was occupied by the victim, who stated the known suspect had returned it yesterday.

January 26, 2022

Commercial Burglary – 4:25 a.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – At the time of call, the alarm company reported a front door window smash that had just occurred. The loss was costume jewelry valued at $200.
Incident Report – 2:02 p.m. – 9800 block of Valley View St. – The principal of the high school found a student in possession of marijuana. Officers confiscated the marijuana and booked it for destruction. Incident report taken for documentation.

January 27, 2022

Community Event – 3:30 p.m. – 9800 block of Valley View St. – Off-duty officers played softball against CYHS Varsity Girls Team and were victorious 10-8! Great game.
Robbery – 9:22 p.m. – 4500 block of Lincoln Ave. – A known female subject stole 10-15 Lotto tickets and threatened the clerk with scissors. The subject was last seen on foot towards the apartments.

January 28, 2022

Vehicle Burglary Report – 8:38 a.m. – 5400 block of Allison Ln. – Between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., unknown suspect(s) burglarized the victim’s vehicle via unknown point of entry and stole a Canon camera, purse, memory cards and other items ($1750 loss). There was no suspect information.
City Liability Report – 9:55 a.m. – 6100 block of Orange Ave. – Female reported her and her grandson fell on the sidewalk in front of the above address and had complaint of pain. They refused medical treatment and desired documentation. Photographs taken and sidewalk was uneven.

January 29, 2022

Community Event – 2:00 p.m. – 4000 block of Orange Ave. – Officers drove by the location for a long-time Cypress resident’s 99th birthday celebration.
Public Works Call Out – 3:03 p.m. – 5100 block of Canterbury – A large city tree had a major split and appeared as though it were going to fall into the roadway. Public Works was called out to prevent the hazard and removed the tree limb.

January 30, 2022

Robbery – 5:35 p.m. – 5400 block of Katella Ave. – Officers were dispatched to the location regarding
a shoplifting. While officers were responding, the subject began fighting with security. The suspect entered a passerby’s vehicle. The female thought she was being a Good Samaritan by giving the man a ride. The vehicle was stopped by Los Alamitos Police Department officers in the area of Katella and Los Alamitos Blvd. The male subject was arrested for robbery and booked at Orange County Jail. The loss was approximately $800.00 in camera equipment, which was recovered.
Domestic Violence – 6:48 p.m. – 9000 block of Holder St. – Officers were dispatched to the location regarding a disturbance. A female subject was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence after she assaulted her boyfriend. She was booked at Orange County Jail.
