January 27, 2022
Disturbance (Subject) – 2:58 p.m. – 7900 block of Walker St. – A subject was refusing to leave the property. Police arrested a 44-year-old subject for trespassing.
Medical Aid – 3:25 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – A student reportedly took codeine. Medics were declined and the subject was released to her mother.
January 28, 2022
Petty Theft Report – 11:39 a.m. – 5000 block of Alder Ln. – A vehicle was reportedly ransacked. The loss was a video camera.
Counseling – 7:58 p.m. – Centerpointe – Guests reportedly requested counseling regarding the smoking policy. The guest believed that they were being harassed due to their race. Police advised regarding a civil matter.
January 29, 2022
Bike Stop – 7:44 p.m. – Warren/Oak – During a bike stop, police conducted a search and subsequently arrested a 30-year-old male subject for bicycle lighting and a bench warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge. The subject was released on citation.
Welfare Check – 8:08 p.m. – 8400 block of Walker St. – The reporting party stated that the neighbor to the rear of their residence “prays” loudly and had something smoking from the apartment, as well as sounds of loud screams as if someone was hurting. Police contacted the subject, who advised that he was praying. Units did not hear any screaming or yelling.

Disturbance (Subject) – 6:33 p.m. – 8400 block of Walker St. – The caller reported a loud noise complaint regarding a subject screaming on and off since 6 a.m. The screaming was very regular according to the reporting party and had been occurring for the past two weeks. Police contacted the resident, who advised that he’d bring it down.
Patrol Check – 9:57 p.m. – 6000 block of La Palma Ave. – An unusual amount of smoke was reportedly coming from the building. It was determined that the grill was being cleaned and emitting a lot of smoke. Checked okay.
January 31, 2022
Counseling – 8:13 a.m. – 7800 block of Walker St. – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a bad check and possible fraud. The reporting party made a loan to his employer in August of 2019 and extended the loan until June of 2020. The company wrote the reporting party a bad check in December 2021 and since terminated his employment with the company. It was unknown if there was intent to defraud. Police spoke with the other party, who stated that there was no intent to defraud and that they were waiting on funds from clients who had never paid. Civil matter only.
Welfare Check – 3:40 p.m. – 5500 block of Fir Cir. – The reporting party stated that his eyes were hurt and he could not see. Police contacted the subject and determined no medical assistance was needed. The subject was watering plants out front and advised that he was upset at the state of the union.
Transient – 10:39 p.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – The caller reported a homeless subject outside the store; the subject previously stole cigarettes and candy the last couple of days. The subject was gone on the arrival of police and was last seen headed eastbound from the store. Police located the subject during a patrol check of the area. The subject declined any resources or medical attention at this time and was advised not to return inside the store. The reporting party was advised to contact the police again if the subject returned.

Suspicious Occupied Vehicle – 2:18 p.m. – 7500 block of Silverado Ln. – An unknown subject was reportedly screaming inside a vehicle in front of a residence.
911 Hangup – 9:24 p.m. – 5600 block of Oak Dr. – The reporting party advised that he was on the phone with a 16-year-old female in Phoenix, Arizona, and he heard yelling at her residence. La Palma Police contacted the Phoenix Police, who advised that they would contact the reporting party.
February 2, 2022
Disturbance (Fight) – 12:39 p.m. – 8100 block of Walker St. – Police received a delayed report regarding a fight at the location. Police confirmed that a fight took place, and parents desired prosecution. Report taken.
Fire – 1:36 p.m. – 5000 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A fire was reported in the flood control channel near the McDonald’s. The caller observed flames and smoke. OCFA responded for a possible bush fire. Report taken.
Bike Stop – 9:40 p.m. – 11300 block of South St. (Cerritos) – Police attempted to perform a bike stop, but the subject refused to stop. The subject was detained at Taser point and cuffed. The subject was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance, bike lighting and reflector violations, and obstruction. The subject was released on citation.
