New Majority Orange County announced its endorsement of one State Senate candidate and three State Assembly candidates. For State Senate, New Majority OC is supporting Janet Nguyen for SD 36. Assembly race endorsements include Phillip Chen for re-election in AD 59, Diane Dixon in AD 72 and Steven Choi for re-election in AD 73.
“California’s Democratic leadership’s extremist policies have sent California families and businesses fleeing the State in record numbers and made California a national punch line,” said Steve Craig, Interim Chairman, New Majority Orange County. “These four candidates are the types of leaders we need in Sacramento, who will fight for smart, limited government, a strong economy and address issues like homelessness and failing schools.”
“Assemblywoman Janet Nguyen came to this Country in search of freedom and the American Dream and she has come to embody the promise of America,” said Craig. “Assemblywoman Nguyen has broken down barriers and is widely recognized as a leader who champions common sense policies that foster freedom and economic growth. She has been elected to lead at the city, county and state level and is the right person to represent the people of the 36th Senate District.”
“Assemblyman Phillip Chen has experience bringing efficiency and effectiveness to government programs, something Sacramento badly needs,” said Craig. “While in the Assembly he has fought for lower taxes and policies that foster job growth. As a small business owner, Phillip understands the value of a free-market economy and the importance of policies that foster innovation and entrepreneurism. We are thrilled to support Phillip’s re-election to California’s 59th AD.”
“Dr. Steven Choi came to this Country as an immigrant, worked hard to excel in academia and in business and devoted his life to improving his community,” said Craig. “While serving in the Assembly, Dr. Choi has led efforts to improve Orange County Schools, protect Proposition 13, tackle the homeless problem, and reduce the cost of health care. Dr. Choi is the kind of leader that we need in Sacramento to bring smart solutions to many broken systems and we enthusiastically endorse his re-election,” said Craig.
“We are thrilled to support Diane Dixon to represent Assembly District 72,” said Craig. “As a Newport Beach City Council Member, fiscal responsibility and government transparency have marked her service. Diane’s leadership has helped Newport Beach deliver budget surpluses, pay down pension liabilities, improve public safety, and complete infrastructure projects on time and within budget. She has also led efforts resulting in greater cooperation between residents, businesses, and government. Diane would bring badly needed leadership and problem-solving skills to Sacramento and we are thrilled to support her candidacy,” Craig concluded.
