Former Long Beach Council District 3 Councilwoman and State Leader Jan Hall Zolin announced her endorsement of City Councilwoman Suzie Price for Long Beach City Mayor.
The endorsement comes on the heels of Price raising $170,000 in two weeks and receiving endorsements from Long Beach Unified School District Board Member Doug Otto, Long Beach Councilmembers Daryl Supernaw and Stacy Mungo, Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell, among others
“Councilwoman Suzie Price is the elected official we need at this time to lead the City of Long Beach,” says Zolin. “Suzie cares about the issues that are impacting our City and has smart, effective, and commonsense plans to solve them. She is dedicated to the City and its citizens, and I am proud to endorse her to be our next Mayor of Long Beach!”
Jan Hall Zolin has more than 30 years experience as an elected official and appointed official with the State of California, County of Los Angeles and City of Long Beach. Zolin has most notably served three terms as Councilwoman of the Third District of Long Beach, the Interim Director of the California Department of Commerce, the Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Housing at the California Business Housing and Transportation Agency, and as the Deputy Director of the California Department of Transportation. She has received numerous awards including an Honorary Life Member of the Parent Teacher Association, named “Most Powerful Woman in Long Beach” by the Press Telegram in 1987, and inducted into both the Long Beach Community College Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Long Beach Lifeguard Hall of Fame in 1997. Jan is greatly involved in the Long Beach community, as she currently serves as the president of Musical Theater West and is on the Board of Directors for the Bixby Village Homeowners Association.
“I am proud to have the endorsement of Jan Hall, former Third District Councilwoman in my mayoral race,” says Price. “Jan has dedicated her life to public service. Her commitment to Long Beach resulted in her successfully stopping a freeway from running through a major part of our city. I am grateful for her leadership and continued support of so many programs and policies in the City of Long Beach. She truly cares about our community and I am grateful to have her as a resource as I prepare to take on a bigger leadership role.”
