Peat family makes generous donation to Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress

Community leaders, Jon and Bonnie Peat, made a generous donation of $25,000 before a cheering group of young people at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress last week. The Peats are the presenting sponsor for the Ace of Clubs Fundraiser at the Ranch Saloon in Anaheim on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

The Peats are passionate advocates for youth and families in Cypress and surrounding communities. A long-time board member, Jon is currently serving as the Chairman of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress, as well as Chairman of the Area Council of Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Orange County. Jon is a founding member of the Champion Baseball program for special needs children, and with his wife Bonnie, are also founding members of the Champions special needs ministry at SeaCoast Grace Church. Jon is a past-president of Cypress Youth Baseball and, as a member of the City Council, has been a strong advocate for the development of Lexington Park to create a home location for our AYSO soccer and Friday Night Lights football programs. In addition to her service with the Champions ministry at SCG, Bonnie is also deeply involved in our community, serving as the President of the Board of Trustees for the Cypress School District and as the President of the GFWC Women’s Club of Cypress.

Commenting on their donation, Jon said, “We are pleased to be able to contribute to the outstanding work that the Boys & Girls Club does every day, serving youth and families in our community with free and low-cost services. We want to partner with them to help them succeed in their vital mission.” Last year the Club served nearly 1,200 youth at seven clubhouses and two teen centers in Anaheim and Cypress. In 2022, the Club will open eight additional clubhouses to serve more youth and their families with free and low-cost services.

The Ace of Clubs Fundraiser at the Ranch Saloon on Sunday, March 13, will include casino gaming, appetizers, hosted bar, buffet dinner and live music, along with, silent and live auctions. Henry DiCarlo is the master of ceremonies.
