The Orange County Labor Federation (OCLF) announced their endorsement of Santa Ana Mayor, former City Councilmember, and business owner Vicente Sarmiento this week. The union joins a growing coalition of endorsers composed of elected officials, community leaders, and other labor and political organizations.
“I am honored to be the Orange County Labor Federation’s choice to represent their more than 200,000 working men and women who, from building new housing units to delivering the mail to performing in theater productions, improve our Orange County community every day,” Mayor Sarmiento said. “I look forward to continuing to partner with the Orange County Labor Federation and their members to give working people and their families a voice on the Board of Supervisors.”
The Orange County Labor Federation represents 80 Orange County-based unions from every sector of the labor movement. Member unions include multiple local chapters of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees, the American Federation of Teachers, the Communication Workers of America, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Office and Professional Employees International Union, Service Employees International, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. California Nurses Association, United Food and Culinary Workers Local 324, and American Postal Workers, among others, are also members of OCLF.
