JFTB Military Veteran’s Resource Center needs volunteers

For many years, the Military Veteran’s Resource Center (MVRC) has supported area military veterans in need of help.

Housed in Building 244 just inside the front gate of Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, MVRC has struggled to meet its mission over the last two years due to restrictions stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

With pandemic restrictions now lifted, the MVRC needs volunteers now. Stop by Building 244 and ask how you can help!

Here are some highlights of the program:

  • play a role in our national defense
  • support members of the military and veterans at the MVRC in Building 244
  • serve two hours per week at the lobby desk
  • be a volunteer for the Department of Defense
  • join the ambassador program for the Employer in Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)
  • attend orientation Monday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • complete training program
  • work with an experienced mentor
  • a badge and uniform will be issued
  • ask for details from the abassador at the MVRC lobby desk
  • attend monthly lunch meetings
  • add to your resume
  • plus additional opportunities to serve
