The City of Cypress Citizens Academy is a free six-week program designed to help Cypress residents and business owners learn about their City Government and encourage community involvement, networking and community service. As a participant, you will meet the Mayor and City Council members, the City Manager, and department directors, and discuss important issues such as planning, public safety, city finances, and more. You will learn how decisions are made, how city resources are allocated, and how departments operate. You will also have a chance to visit and tour city facilities.
The Citizens Academy will run every Tuesday evening from June 14 to July 26 (no session on July 5) with a special recognition at the August 22 City Council Meeting. Sessions will begin at 5:30 pm and participants will be provided dinner from a local Cypress restaurant each week.
