May 5, 2022

Traffic Stop – 7:38 a.m. – Valley View/Orangethrope – During a traffic stop, a subject admitted that there was a gun in the vehicle. The firearm was confirmed to have been stolen out of Greater Salt Lake. A 38-year-old male subject was arrested for felony parole violation, being a felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person possessing ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm in public. The subject was booked at Orange County Jail.
Counseling – 5:30 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Two days prior, the reporting party’s neighbor reportedly cussed at the reporting party for taking reward money for finding a lost dog. Both parties counseled.

May 6, 2022

Assist Other Department – 12:37 p.m. – 5600 block of Lincoln (Cypress) – A male subject appeared to be hitting a female subject. Both subjects were in wheelchairs and appeared to be intoxicated. Assisted.
Bike Stop – 9:42 p.m. – Carmenita/South (Cerritos) – Following a bike stop, police arrested a 43-year-old male subject for possession of a controlled substance. The subject was later released on citation.
Extra Patrol Checks – 11:09 p.m. – Thelma/Walker (Buena Park) – The reporting party requested extra patrol checks in the area overnight due to recent vehicle burglaries and catalytic converter thefts in the area.

May 7, 2022

Medial Aid – 3:32 p.m. – Edison Right-of-Way/Barbi – Four juveniles advised that a female subject was injured. It was determined that the subjects were play-fighting and the female was accidentally injured in the knee. The subject was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Welfare Check – 8:41 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller stated that a store clerk asked a passerby to call the police on her behalf as a male subject was bothering her. The subject was making racial slurs throughout the store. The subject was advised regarding trespassing.
Traffic Stop – 10:59 p.m. – Walker/Bransford – During a traffic stop, police conducted a DUI investigation and arrested a 55-year-old male subject for DUI, DUI while on probation for DUI, driving on a revoked or suspended license for DUI, and impeding the flow of traffic. A blood technician was requested. The subject’s vehicle was impounded. The subject was released on citation.

May 8, 2022

Injured Animal – 6:57 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – An injured pelican was reported at Central Park. SEAACA notified.

May 9, 2022

Burglary Report – 12:33 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – An employee came into work and found the office in disarray. A review of the camera footage saw that an unknown subject was in the office. The loss was unknown.

May 10, 2022

Robbery – 4:04 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A male subject reported stole approximately $800 in cash, 100 boxes of cigarettes valued at around $1000 and an unknown amount of lottery scratchers after brandishing a gun.
Counseling – 5:09 p.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – Counseling was requested regarding a civil matter over selling a previously-stolen vehicle to a dealership. Assisted.
Vehicle Burglary – 5:17 p.m. – 7300 block of Dallas Dr. – Between May 9, 2022 at 10 p.m. and May 10, 2022 at 6 a.m., approximately $2000-$3000 in tools were stolen from a utility cabinet in a vehicle.

May 11, 2022

Lost/Stolen Plate – 1:25 p.m. – 5500 block of Pineridge Dr. – A front license plate was stolen. It was recovered by the Cypress Police Department.
Traffic Control – 10:09 p.m. – Walker/Crescent (Cypress) – Edison was working in the area and the street and traffic lights were out. A traffic collision occurred in Cypress Police’s jurisdiction. Cypress Police Department advised. Assistance was requested for traffic control. Stop signs and flares were placed.
