Authorities identify coyote responsible for attacking child inside Mile Square Park

On June 21, 2022, at 8:30 p.m., a lone coyote attacked a two-year-old child inside Mile Square Park near Euclid and Stonecress. California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) obtained a DNA sample from the victim’s clothing, which conclusively proved to be a coyote responsible for the attack. The DNA sample was a match to a coyote that was trapped by the CDFW. CDFW and US Department of Agriculture have concluded all operations.

The child is recovering from the injuries.

  1. We are having a BIG problem with Coyotes in Cypress Village just north of Orangewood. Between Knotts and Holder. They are all over the place during the day. They look sick. Neighbor thinks it might be a lack of water and they are looking for water and food. We have a lot of young children here plus many dogs. I sent info to City. But have received no comments. This time they are at the end of my street a couple of doors away. Before we had three running behind my house. All during the day.
