Diana Hill is running for re-election to the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board

I’ve been honored to serve LAUSD as a trustee since 2010.

Randy and I raised our family here because of the schools. I know first-hand there is a direct correlation between the quality of our schools and home values.

I strive to ensure students receive a world-class education in a safe environment, where parents have a voice.

During my tenure:

  • Two Bonds which modernized all school sites, world-class STEM Building, aquatic center, track & field
  • Projects completed on time and on budget
  • Increased safety measures for students and staff
  • Over 90% of graduates enroll in post-secondary education
  • Blue-Ribbon and Gold Ribbon Schools
  • Championships in Art’s and Athletics
  • Increased access to mental health counselors and established Wellness Spaces

I strive to maintain a culture of “keeping the main thing the main thing”.

I make myself accessible to students, parents, staff, and the community.

Served as:

  • President of Los Alamitos Education Foundation (LAEF)
  • Chaired Measure K
  • Chaired Bond Oversite
  • Special Ed PTSA
  • DLAC

My profession is Executive Director for Pathways to Independence which supports young at-risk women.

I believe that education is the difference-maker in our society.

I would be honored to passionately serve our students, parents, staff, and community as a School Board Trustee.

  1. Florida flipped 13 school boards yesterday to conservative control. Diana Hill in the last 12 years has ushered in radical leftist curriculum and must be defeated. Return Los Al Schools to a conservative parent majority – Vote for Rona Goldberg.

  2. A small group of very loud and hateful parents are trying to take over the school board. Keeping a non-partisan school board is imperative in this highly divisive community we live in. Vote Diana Hill and tell these hateful (mostly grandmothers) to stop sabotaging our schools. Let teachers teach.

Editor’s note: this is not Rona Goldberg. We regret too-quickly publishing this comment, and will not publish any further comments from this person.

    1. Just to be clear, I did not post the above comment. Have a nice day. Rona Goldberg

      1. To Rona Goldberg:
Are you a Democrat or a Republican?

  3. The Republicans are in such disarray. The Republicans are trying to push out Republican Diana Hill. Get the popcorn!

  4. Who is Rona Goldberg? I absolutely will not vote for Diana Hill. She has been a major disappointment.

    1. Eleanor,

Thank you for reading Orange County Breeze, and for taking the time to ask this question.

Orange County Breeze will publish tomorrow an article listing the candidates for the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Trustees that will include a link to each candidate’s statement and a map of the Trustee Districts.

According to Rona Goldberg’s candidate statement, she is a parent of three LAUSD students:

I plan to serve in a way that will unite and support the students and parents of Los Alamitos. I will focus on parental rights in education, board transparency, academic excellence and professional development in special education for teachers.

In the meantime, you can download a pdf version of Rona Goldberg’s candidate statement from the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

Again, thank you for reading Orange County Breeze.

  5. As a Republican, it pains me to say that Diana Hill should NOT be re-elected. She has aligned herself with the left-leaning LAUSD school board and might as well switch political parties. Maybe years ago school boards were nonpartisan but in 2022, you must know if the person you are voting for shares your core values. It is with great regret as a lifelong Republican that I am encouraging everyone NOT to re-elect Diana Hill.

    1. I agree! Vote for Rona Goldberg! Time for new people to represent our kids!
