On the morning of August 22, Emily Hibard, Rona Goldberg, and a team of volunteers distributed invitations to their Rossmoor Highlands “Meet & Greet” on Paseo Bonita coming up this Wednesday evening.
Emily Hibard is running for Los Alamitos City Council District 5. The incumbent, Mark Chirco, is not seeking re-election. Rona Goldberg is running for Los Alamitos School Board Area 3. City Council District 5 and School Board Area 3 both include the Rossmoor Highlands.
“Nearly 150 people live on Paseo Bonita, and I know many of them, but definitely not everybody. We want to host this ‘Meet & Greet’ to give our neighbors a mid-week opportunity to stop by after the kids get home from school and after everybody is home from work to meet us in a casual, familiar environment. We want to share why we are running, what issues are important to us, and ask our neighbors about the issues that mean the most to them. Plus, it’ll be a great opportunity to meet a few of the new neighbors that have recently moved to Paseo Bonita,” Hibard said.
Emily Hibard has previously served on the Los Alamitos Cable Television Commission, and as a member of the Studio City City Council. She has a master’s degree in Public Administration, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. In addition, she studied Modern Political Thought at the University of Oxford.
