Gov. Newsom speaks out against violence after assault on Paul Pelosi

Governor Gavin Newsom issued the following statement regarding the violent assault on Paul Pelosi by an assailant who broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco:

“This heinous assault is yet another example of the dangerous consequences of the divisive and hateful rhetoric that is putting lives at risk and undermining our very democracy and Democratic institutions. Those who are using their platforms to incite violence must be held to account.

“Our leaders should never fear for their safety and the safety of their families in serving the people they were elected to represent – not in their homes, not at the U.S. Capitol, not anywhere. Jennifer and I wish Paul a speedy recovery and send our thoughts to Speaker Pelosi and their family during this time.”

  1. Maybe the DA in San Francisco that replaced the loser (Boudin) that was recalled will nail the MAGA attacker to the wall. Newsom, you are safe in this election, your usually are. You may be seeing a new CA Atty Gen and a new Controller in your first staff meeting in 2023. I still don’t have my inflation rebate check. Your’e an idiot, if you want to buy our votes those checks should have been in the voter’s hands in early October.

  2. Newsom fails to disclose his family and financial relationship to the Pelosi’s. No transparency in his statements nor accountability to the crime rate and poor quality of life in San Francisco where he served as Mayor and is responsible to the conditions in San Francisco today. He wants special safety for elected officials? What about the citizens of our state?

    1. Nancy’s his Aunt. All those elites inter marry so no one testifies on each other if their crimes ever come out. It’s the “Game of Thrones” American style.

    2. Let them eat cake!
