California GOP issues statement on election of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House of Representatives

Today, California Republican Party Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson released the following statement in response to California Republican Kevin McCarthy being elected as Speaker of the House of Representatives:

“I am thrilled to congratulate a leader in our Party, a critical ally to the CAGOP, and a dear friend, Kevin McCarthy, on earning the support of his peers to serve as our country’s Speaker of the House. Last November, voters put their trust in Republicans by electing a GOP House majority. Speaker McCarthy is the right person to now lead that majority in addressing some of our nation’s biggest issues, holding the radical Biden Administration accountable, and moving our country forward once again.”
The article above was released by the California Republican Party (CAGOP).

  1. The well-oiled Republican party machine takes 15-rounds of voting over multiple days before electing Kevin McCarthy. The weak Republican leadership allows about 20 sedition loving Republican members roll the party for concessions. The same 20 were either involved or cheer leading the Jan-6 riots in the Capital. For California Republicans, if I gave you three Primary candidates to run for Governor against Gov. Newsom, the California Republicans would pick the worst one like Larry Elder. How does it feel California Republicans to be politically insignificant for decades after former Gov Pete Wilson let the systemic bigotry in the party out of the bag in the 1990s? Now this dysfunction has made its way to Washington in the US House.
