Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do will host the Orange County Tet Festival at Mile Square Park on January 20 – 22nd to celebrate the Year of the Cat.
“Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is the most important celebration in the Vietnamese community,” explains Supervisor Andrew Do. “It is a time for families to gather and honor the sacrifices of our ancestors.”
The 3-day Orange County Tet Festival will feature a variety of exquisite food, live entertainment, and carnival rides. Families will have an opportunity to experience the Vietnamese Cultural Center, where they will be transported to some of the most iconic landscapes from different regions of Vietnam.
Each Lunar New Year celebrates one of the twelve Zodiac animals, which are commonly associated with certain personality traits. 2023 is the Year of the Cat, which represents talent, ambition, and creativity.
“The OC Tet Festival is a wonderful event that celebrates new beginnings, good fortune, and prosperity,” said Supervisor Andrew Do. “Every year, thousands of families come from all over the country to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Orange County.”
