Assemblymember Diane Dixon (CA-72) appointed to key committees

Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) received several key membership appointments to committees in Sacramento.

Of crucial importance will be her leadership roles as Vice Chair for the Assembly Committee on Local Government and the Assembly Committee on Accountability and Administrative Review.

“I am honored to bring my experience from serving on the Newport Beach City Council as well as three decades as a global business executive to Sacramento.” Dixon said. “I plan to be another voice of support to bring local control back to our communities. Additionally, I look forward to working with Chair Cottie Petrie-Norris on A&AR to review the effectiveness of state programs and agencies.”

The State Assembly appoints its 80 members to roughly 50 different committees, subcommittees and joint committees that work in tandem to pass judgment on hundreds of bills each year. The Speaker appointed Assemblymember Dixon to seven committees overall:

Local Government, Vice Chair
Accountability and Administrative Review, Vice Chair
Appropriations
Banking and Finance
Business and Professions
Judiciary
Joint Fairs Allocation and Classification
