My first job, when I was a senior in high school, was dipping ice cream cones. From that beginning, I worked my way up to Store Manager and then a variety of roles in the corporate world, but always they were influenced by my experience in the Ice Cream department. Every time you hand someone a cone, you get a huge smile back!
It took more than 25 years before I really began to “get it”, the truth about serving others. I’m a slow learner, but I think I finally “got it.” Over the years it became apparent that if you hire right, train right, and most important… treat your people right… you can create a dynamic unbeatable team.
