Died: Gregorio Escalante, founder of Juxtapoz magazine, owner of the Gregorio Escalante Gallery, and surfer. [Source: the Orange County Register.] His self-named gallery, established in 2015 and located at 978 Chung King Rd. in Los Angeles, had recently opened a new exhibition of the artwork of Kozyndan, a husband and wife team “known in particular for their whimsical and occasionally absurd illustrations of modern cityscapes,” according to Wikipedia.
