As a convenience to our members, we will send out a weekly calendar on Mondays to remind everyone of upcoming events, programs and activities. We will continue to send our Member Alerts for specific events. As a reminder, additional information on events, programs and activities can be found on the web site at www.cypresschamber.org.

News and Notes

Orange County’s Largest Mixer… is Thursday, March 29 at the Orange County Fairgrounds from 5-9 p.m. The Cypress Chamber will have a booth, joining area businesses for a great networking event.

A Tip of Our Cap to… Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, President and CEO of Earth Friendly Products, will be honored this year by the American-Hellenic Council with the Aristeion Award in Business on Saturday, March 31 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles at 6 p.m.

The dress code for the evening is black tie optional. For more information on the festivities including purchasing tickets and sponsorships, go to http://www.americanhellenic.org/gala2018 . Individual tickets are $150.00 and sponsorship levels, which include an ad, begin at $500.00. The hotel is located at 251 South Olive Street. Earth Friendly Products was the Cypress Chamber Business of the Year in 2017.


Forest Law Easter Sunrise Service, Sunday, April 1, Forest Lawn Ascension Mausoleum Forecourt, 6-7 a.m.&hellip Pastor Mark Hopper (Evangelical Free Church, Diamond Bar) will officiate the service and be joined by the Bethany Christian Reformed Church Choir (directed by Faith Rietveld). Free parking and admission.


Head of the Class… Cypress School District Superintendent Anne Silavs and Anaheim Union High School District Superintendent Mike Matsuda recently have received top honors. Silavs was awarded the Outstanding Administrator award by Fourth District PTA. The award recognizes outstanding service and commitment of teachers and administrators who work with children and youth in our schools and who are committed to the mission and values of PTA and whose work extends throughout Orange County. Matsuda was honored by the California Council of Social Studies with the Diane L. Brooks Administrative Award for his work in promoting civic education through curriculum. The award was presented at the annual conference of the council, comprised of middle and high school history and social studies teachers statewide.
