Rent Relief Workshop

Income-eligible tenants in the Lakewood area who have experienced a financial hardship can apply to receive rent and utilities assistance at the Rent Relief Workshop held at the Weingart Senior Center, 5220 Oliva Ave., Lakewood, on Tuesday, Aug.10, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This workshop is provided by the Fair Housing Foundation.
All tenants are encouraged to apply regardless of immigration status. A gift card will be provided to each applicant who submits a completed application at the workshop.
The City of Long Beach and City of Los Angeles provide their own workshops, so residents of those cities should check the City of Long Beach and City of Los Angeles Rent Relief websites for workshop dates in their area.
Be sure to bring the following documents to participate in the workshop:
- Identification for all adults in the household.
- Income verification for all adults in the household. Examples would be 2020 tax returns, W2s, paystubs, or bank statements.
- A copy of a rental agreement or rent ledger.
- Most recent utility bills including gas, electric, water, and/or internet.
- Landlord contact information.
All current Los Angeles County Public Health guidelines will be followed, including wearing masks indoors for all participants.
Please note that for the most part we will only publish events happening in our core coverage area — Cypress, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach, the Naval Weapons Station, and the Joint Forces Training Base — or in communities bordering on our core coverage area.
