Forty of the leading experts in the sport diving industry will share their knowledge during 74 educational seminars at Scuba Show 2022, the largest consumer dive show in the U.S, coming to Southern California’s Long Beach Convention Center on May 14 to 15, 2022. The show returns after a two-year hiatus with the latest in dive gear and accessories, and travel advice about dive vacation destinations from over 260 exhibitors.

Seminars, presentations and workshops run throughout the show focusing on history, adventure, marine life, diving physiology, underwater photography, local dive spots, foreign travel, marine conservation and more.

Captain John Kades of the L.A. County Coroner’s Office, will present an overview of recent dive accidents and present safety tips that will help divers of all ages.

Well-known videographers Jim and Pat Stayer will talk about the intelligence of cephalopods with their vast collection of octopus, squid, and cuttlefish footage from around the world; Dan Orr will discuss what every older diver should know about recognizing and reducing risks; Jess Rosas and Cindy Rhode will discuss how to identify and forecast favorable weather, tide, surf and tidal flow turbulence patterns for popular dive sites in LA County; and Andy Sallmon and Allison Vitksy Sallmon will share their secrets to achieving enticing underwater photos.

Other seminars will focus on exercise programs for increased strength, conditioning, function and flexibility for diving; diving from sea kayaks; how to help save and restore ecologically-critical kelp forests; and recruiting divers’ help in monitoring giant sea bass.
